Titrations often require liquids to be pumped about. In automation in particular the aspiration of the titrated sample solution is very comfortable. After automatically carrying out the preprogrammed rinsing and aspiration cycles the clean sample beaker and electrodes are immediately ready for the next determination. The waste is transferred to a waste canister for convenient disposal. Membrane pumps can no longer be used for liquids that contain a solid such as precipitated silver chloride. The Pump Unit reliably pumps particle-containing liquids with a flow rate between 0.4 and 0.8 L/min (depending on operating voltage).
Organic solvents represent a particularly critical medium. In this case the resistance of the pump components limits the range of applications of the pump. This is not the case with the Pump Unit, as here the user can work with pump tubing made from various materials and so optimally match the resistance of the tubing to the medium to be pumped.
The Pump Unit is supplied with a piece of tubing for aqueous applications and one for use with organic solvents as standard.
