The 819 IC Detector is the top-class conductivity detector. It has been developed specially for ion chromatography with and without chemical suppression. It is able to reliably determine even very small signals against a very high background conductivity - up to 10 000 µS/cm. The 819 IC Detector is an integral part of the modular Advanced Metrohm IC systems. The wet-chemistry part and the electronics are strictly separated.
The detector block with built-in measuring cell is thermally and electrically shielded against outside influences. All signal lines - including those to the AD converter - are specially shielded. A Faraday cage reliably prevents interference by electrosmog. The measuring cell is thermostatted and is characterized by its temperature stability of <0.01 °C. The temperature of the detector block can be set between 25 °C and 45 °C. Together with electronic preamplification in the detector block, the 819 IC Detector offers the highest degree of sensitivity at an optimal signal-to-noise ratio. The measuring cell is made of stainless steel; all supply lines are either made of PEEK (version 0110) or stainless steel (version 0010).
The electronic part of the detector processes the signal up to the analog output. Seven measuring ranges are available. The full-scale range can be set in 11 steps between 0.05% and 100% of the measuring range, i.e. from measuring range/2000 to measuring range/1. In combination with the auto-zero function, noise is reduced to an absolute minimum (electronic noise <0.0003% of the selected measuring range).
The 819 IC Detector is remotely controlled by the Metrodata IC Net or IC Cap software. Application-oriented time programs and (remote-)control programs for the whole IC system and further peripheral devices form integral parts of the 819 IC Detector. If the detector is to be controlled directly from a PC without the 830 IC Interface, then the 6.2125.110 cable is required for the connection 819 IC Detector - PC (25/9).
