The IC column Metrosep Carb 1 - 250 (capacity 1530 µmol Cl-) is specially suitable for the determination of carbohydrates using alkaline eluents and pulsed amperometric detection. The ion exchange column is based on a styrene/divinylbenzene copolymer. The material is extremely stable in the alkaline range and shows an excellent separation of mono- and di-saccharides. Additionally it is also suitable for the analysis of sugar alcohols, oligosaccharides and amino acids. The capacity of the column is optimized for fast separation of the carbohydrates.
